Daddy is My Favorite Daddy

I love Father's Day because it's all about Daddy. And I love Daddy because, well, he's Daddy! We do all sorts of fun things together. He's the best. So for Father's Day I took him to the aquarium in Monterey after I made him pancakes for breakfast (with a little bit of help from Mommy). I love the aquarium. All kinds of fishies. And cool plants. And penguins. And the sea otters are so cute! Especially when they roll over in the water and play together. I want to be an otter for a day so I can play like them.

The jellyfish are really neat 'cause they glow. And they're all blobby.

Then we played at a park. Super fun!

It was a great day.

And! A video!

Two wheels!

I learned how to ride my bike today! I went to Golden Gate Park to meet up with my friends. We all brought our bicycles. I had training wheels on mine, but Daddy took them off after five minutes. I was a little nervous, but really excited too. Look! I'm riding my bike! And my friend Leo is chasing me!

Then I rode away!

I'm Five!

Today is my fifth birthday. If you were to ask me how old I am, I could hold out one open hand and show you all my fingers. There are five. That means I am five years old. Yay!

This morning I had yummy tiny pancakes and baked apples with cinnamon and sugar. Daddy made them. Then we all prepared for my birthday party at the big park near our house. I put the sprinkles on the ice cream cone-shaped cupcakes.

I got a lot of presents. I didn't even ask for them. I have never seen so many presents for me before. They are all lovely. I got stickers and art boxes and books and clothes and so much good stuff. A lot of my friends drew me really beautiful pictures. I have a great collection of drawings now.

My friends in my class made a book with their drawings for my birthday. It's very special. One of my friends can draw a dragon really good. He must practice a lot. I keep that special drawing book with my other special drawing book that I got for my third birthday at my first preschool. They are both very special to me.

Mommy asked how I feel being five. I had to be honest. "I'm sick. Today is my birthday and I'm sick." I'm coughing a lot, my throat hurts a lot, and I might stay home from school. I don't want my friends at school to get sick. And shhh, don't tell, but I kinda like hanging out at home.

I do like being five though. I'm a big kid!

Bzzz

Sunday is an "S" day. That means I have no school and Daddy and Mommy have no work. On Sunday I played at the park. I sat on the grass while Mommy and Daddy tried to get my red ball out of the tree. A bee landed on my leg. He was angry so he stung me. OOOOWWWWW!!!! I squashed him, but he was still stinging me. Daddy helped me take the stinger out. I cried. Waaaaahhhh!!! Five minutes later I fell asleep on the way home.

Getting stung by a bee makes you tired.

We never got my ball out of the tree. Mommy did manage to get a rock stuck up in the tree too to keep the ball company. Be careful if you're at the Aquatic park sitting under a tree. A rock might fall on your head. And it's a big rock.
